About The Beyond
The Beyond is an independently run monthly subscription comic, bringing together some of the best illustration and storytelling talent from across the UK. Every issue lands straight through your letterbox, packed with original comic strips, stories and puzzles designed to get kids aged 5–12 reading, laughing and using their imagination.
Founded by Andy Goodridge, The Beyond is built on one simple idea: brilliant, funny comics shouldn't cost a fortune or come wrapped in screens. Just great value, honest fun, delivered every month.
Meet the team
Andy Goodridge
(Diplodicus & Sealion, PALS, Old Mage's Treasure Tales, Small Rules, Totally True Things)
Andy is the founder, designer, editor and general dogsbody at The Beyond. He also writes and illustrates several of the strips that appear in the comic, including Diplodicus & Sealion.
He started drawing comics at the kitchen table when he was a child and is still drawing comics at the kitchen table to this day. He's a graphic designer, illustrator and author, and lives in Surrey with his wife, two kids, and a black cat named Martha!
Kirsty Nicolson (Kustard Illustrates)

Kirsty (Kustard) is a very kind, friendly, out going person who is unique in her own quirky little way. She is a very happy little weirdo in her own little magical world!.
Kirsty specialises in creating unique and custom illustrations inspired by the wonderfully weird world we live in as well as the amazing people, animals and other weirdly wonderful things that reside within it.
Rick Eades
(Frankie and the Fiends, Meaty Chunks)
Rick Eades is a comic artist and illustrator, based in the North West of England, where he lives with his wife and their pet dog Roxie. His work is cute and humorous, and inspired by his love of comics, books, pop culture and daily life. He’s also never far from a nice cup of coffee.
Paul M Wilson
(Science Pig)
Paul is a children’s illustrator and author from ‘oop north, like’ in Lancashire. He’s only recently started drawing cartoons, but he’s always been silly, so it all worked out in the end. He’s written six children’s books so far, and is proud to be the creator of Science Pig!
Kev Brett
(The Bald Yeti)
Kev is an illustrator and the creator of the Bald Yeti. He has produced numerous comics and comic strips, ranging from published works to self-published books and was once the co-organiser of the 9 year running, Nottingham Comic Convention. The Bald Yeti also features in a number of card games. But are you a good enough hunter to find them?
Stuart Brandt
(Holibobz)
Stuart is an illustrator and author from the West Midlands, where he lives with his husband and their fur babies. He has created his own children’s novel and has helped bring other authors picture books and comic books covers to life.
He is inspired by animals and the world of imagination trying to bring fun and cute characters to life to make others laugh.
Adam Foreman
(Slime Guy)
Adam is an author and illustrator who loves making slice of life comics full of silly humour. With a background in animation and video games, his comics are full of character and are inspired by the ‘90s cartoons & games he loved growing up. Originally from Liverpool, he now lives in Yorkshire with his partner and two young kids. Adam has published graphic novels for children, such as the Slice of Mallow series, and is always busy creating new stories and characters.
Chris McGuire
(Totally True Things)
The inside of Chris McGuire's head would be a strange place to visit, full of slime and very silly behaviour. Chris wanted a complete change from writing very silly stuff for kids' TV, so he decided to write silly stuff for kids' books and comics instead. Chris is the writer behind the Crooks and Nannies series of books, and other secret stuff he's not allowed to talk about. Chris lives in Devon with his family and a cat who seems to be plotting his downfall.
